Summary
The Genworth Financial Actuarial Leadership Development Program track is an entry-level program designed to develop a pipeline of actuarial talent to support Genworth's dynamic growth environment.
Position Description
The Actuarial Leadership Development Program is a two-year program with rotational assignments throughout various Genworth locations. The rotational assignments provide exposure and experience to Genworth products and areas within the actuarial function, such as product development, valuation, and pricing. During the program, participants must sit for a Society of Actuaries exam every six months and successfully pass at least two actuarial exams during the two year program. The program also consists of training courses targeted at developing program participants’ business and insurance knowledge as well as leadership skills in Genworth's renowned leadership development curriculum.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in actuarial related field of study from an accredited college or university
- Minimum or better final grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
- High initiative and career focus
- Superior leadership, interpersonal communication and analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to relocate every six months for two years
- Passed one Society of Actuaries exam
In addition, all candidates for the program must have:
- Career aspirations to attain an Actuarial Fellowship designation
- Demonstrated math and analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications
- Internship(s) in the insurance industry - considered a plus
- Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g. campus or community service activities)
- Participated in some team or individual case study projects in their undergraduate program
